Winter has been rough on New England. Spring will be welcome sooner than later. The bitterness of this winter will soon pass and so will our appreciation for warmer days. What? Think about it, instead of dreading the bitterness of winter, we’ll be concerned with the warmth of the day. It’s human nature to forget and move on, losing our appreciation for the gift of a nicer day.
Unfortunately, we can do the same with our faith. Can we still appreciate the day when God transformed our life with the saving grace of Jesus Christ? Can we remember the moments when we are blessed when someone comes into our life and shares the love of God? It is so easy for us to forget.
Lent is a time to remember, remember how Jesus gave his life for us. Remember how Jesus’ prayer on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” was answered through the day of Resurrection. Lent is a time when we celebrate our faith.
Take time to remember, renew, and refresh your faith journey. Holy week is a great time to do all of this by experiencing the journey Jesus took for our sake. I invite you to celebrate and experience a holy journey to Easter Sunday.
