We have been sitting home practicing social distancing but is there something that we can do to help others during this crisis? There are others in our town and in our state that are hungry and suffering way more than anything most of us are experiencing. I don’t know if there is anyone in our own congregation who has lost their job but if you do please let us know and we will see how we can help.
In lieu of our regular Easter offering and Communion offerings we are asking for donations for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and The Parish Cupboard. Feeding others has always been a project that we have been proud to participate in.
Please send your donations made out to West Springfield UMC and we will send a check from the church to the Food Bank and another one to The Parish Cupboard on behalf of our congregation. Please put “FOOD” in the Memo line of your check so I can identify it as soon as possible as we would like to get this out within the next week or two.
I have always been so proud of our congregation whenever a serious needed has arisen. Now is the time when we can really help.
